Tangipahoa Parish Government is asking for citizen participation at a March 28 meeting to develop plans for future grant opportunities. Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller says organizers will discuss the Hometown Revitalization and Resilient Communities’ Infrastructure grant programs. Leaders want to learn more about the public’s views on housing, community revitalization, infrastructure, and economic development needs for the parish. “We will pay particular attention to programs designed to help residents with low-to-moderate income, blighted properties, and other urgent needs in our community,” Miller said. All residents—particularly those with low-to-moderate income—and residents and businesses in areas that need revitalization are encouraged to participate. The meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, March 28, at 4:30 p.m., inside the Council Chambers of the Tangipahoa Parish Government Office, located at 206 E. Mulberry Street in Amite. A similar meeting was held last week in Hammond. Anyone who would like to submit a written comment may do so until 3 p.m., on Wednesday, March 29. Please send those to TPG, attention Missy Cowart, at P.O. Box 215, Amite, LA 70422. You can also email those to mcowart@tangipahoa.org.
