Severe Weather Update For Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022

Changes from previous update:

  • The area of greatest threat has expanded southward to the Interstate 10 and 12 corridors.

Overview:

WHAT: SLIGHT RISK to MARGINAL RISK of Severe Weather

WHEN: Between 3 a.m., and 3 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 25, as storms move from west to east.

WHERE: All of south Mississippi and southeast Louisiana with the greatest risk near and north of the Interstate 10 and 12 corridors.

CONFIDENCE:

Confidence in thunderstorm development is greater in the Slight Risk area with less confidence further south.

Impacts:

A scattered to broken line of storms along a cold front will move eastward across the area on Tuesday. The main threats associated with any severe storms will be:

  • Damaging wind gusts greater than 60 mph, which could down trees and powerlines.
  • Isolated tornadoes
  • Small hail

The threat of severe weather will end with the passage of the cold front by late afternoon Tuesday.
