Click HEREHERE, and HERE for an update on local weather impacts

Changes from previous update:
No changes.

Overview:

  • As Hurricane Ian moves slowly toward Florida, the interaction between Ian and a cold front is helping to cause breezy and very dry conditions over the area. This has caused a need for a Wind Advisory, Red Flag Warning, as well as Small Craft Advisories and Gale Warnings.

Confidence: There is moderate to high confidence in these conditions.

Impacts:

  • Sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph could blow around lightweight and loose outdoor objects and make driving difficult.
  • For marine interests, large swells and gusty winds will continue to affect all coastal waters through Thursday. These winds and swells will result in hazardous conditions across the coastal waters, especially in offshore waters.
  • Fire weather conditions will promote rapid fire spread with plenty of dry fuels and strong winds.
