TPG Road Work: Week of Sept. 6, 2022

AMITE—Due to the Labor Day holiday, road work will resume Tuesday, Sept. 6, across much of Tangipahoa Parish.

Parish President Robby Miller said all Tangipahoa Parish Government offices are closed on Monday in observance of the federal Labor Day holiday. The Tangipahoa Parish Landfill will also be closed Monday due to the holiday.

BAPTIST—While the sun is shining, road crews are working to catch up on a series of projects that have been delayed due to rain.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said Phase 22 road overlay projects and the RPC infrastructure work has been delayed by heavy rains experienced across the parish over the last several weeks.

PONCHATOULA—Rain delays have continued to push back road overlay work in Tangipahoa Parish.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said heavy rains experienced across the parish over the last two weeks have impacted the Phase 22 road overlay projects. PONCHATOULA—Barricades have been removed and traffic is once again moving across a new bridge on Sisters Road east of Ponchatoula as of Thursday afternoon.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said the bridge opened a week ahead of schedule.

Closed in early March, the project addressed several safety issues on the heavily-traveled parish roadway.  The parish acquired right-of-way to remove a dangerous curve in the middle of the bridge.   Crews were then tasked with re-developing the narrow bridge into a straightaway[...]
