AMITE—Effective today (Friday, Oct. 11), Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller announces the parish’s burn ban has been lifted.

“Due to overnight rain totals and a forecast track that calls for additional showers in our area throughout this afternoon, our local fire departments concur that conditions no longer call for a burn ban across Tangipahoa Parish,” Miller said.

Miller established a burn ban on Sept. 30, citing nearly two months of dry and abnormally hot weather conditions across our area.
