AMITE—After months of searching, Tangipahoa’s centennial time capsule has been located, and it will be opened in a public gathering on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Tangipahoa Parish Council Chambers in Amite.
Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said his office worked with a number of sources across the area, and last Friday, the capsule was finally located after a nearly year-long search.
The circa-1969 time capsule will be opened at 3 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Gordon A. Burgess Governmental Building, located at 206 E. Mulberry Street in Amite. The public is invited to attend, Miller said.
