The Social Security Administration is committed to remaining accessible to our recipients and applicants. Due to Hurricane Ida, I know that many residents of Tangipahoa Parish have been displaced. Hopefully, the majority of these residents have direct deposit for their SSA benefits and therefore have access to their benefits.

Our staff is answering office phones remotely and is assisting the public with most transactions by phone. Our online services are also a convenient way to transact SSA business including requesting a duplicate Social Security card, address changes, direct deposit changes, and filing online for retirement and disability benefits. Recipients can also print a benefit verification letter from their home computers via my Social Security account on the SSA website www.socialsecurity.gov.
