Each year, the Tangipahoa Chamber celebrates the accomplishments of women from across our parish with the annual Annie Awards. This year's class of honorees includes entrepreneurs, health care workers, and educators who inspire and motivate us as well as the next generation of Tangipahoa leaders! As a special treat today, Tangi's own, four-time national championship-winning basketball Coach Kim Mulkey, shared a message of team building, mentorship, and success! Congratulations to all of this year's recipients!

Our #TeamTangi Road and Bridge crews are making good use of this sunshine to cut grass along our local roadways. If you see the "Mowers Ahead" signs, please be sure to move slowly through the work zone and give our crews room to move. While you're at it, give them a wave or a thumb's up for the great job they are doing!

June 1 is here, and that means #TeamTangi will be watching the tropics for any potential threats to our community. This is the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, and it calls for only a 20 percent chance of development over the next seven days. Here's what we know: Overview: There is a LOW (20%) chance of tropical cyclone development over the next 7 days. This system is forecast to meander in the central and eastern Gulf of Mexico over the next day or so, then eventually will drift southeastward towards the Florida Peninsula. Impacts: This system is not expected to bring any significant impacts to the local area at this time. For updates, stay tuned to local media and our Tangipahoa.org/news-updates page.
