How Tangi Faced COVID: A Year in Review with Parish President, Robby Miller
In the last year, Tangipahoa Parish, unfortunately, lost 275 residents to COVID-19. Today, one year since the pandemic began, we remember these lives lost, and we grieve them as a parish community.
However, amid all the tragedies, we made great strides both in learning how to treat and prevent this illness. We sincerely give thanks to the frontline healthcare workers who have courageously sacrificed so much in the last year to take care of all of us.
Governor John Bel Edwards announced on Tuesday that the state will declare this Sunday, March 14, a day of prayer and remembrance for the lives we have lost due to COVID-19. From Parish President, Robby Miller, we ask that all Tangipahoa residents pause for a moment of silence at noon on Sunday to remember those who have succumbed to the illness in the last year.
