April 3, 2020 Update

  • Paycheck Protection Program – President Trump announced Friday afternoon that more than $3.5 billion in guaranteed partially-forgivable loans have been processed through the Paycheck Protection Program, after its first day. The SBA continues to roll out more information on the Program, and the Treasury Department has an updated application form, and more, here.
  • SBA Program Comparison – America’s SBDC has created a spreadsheet that compares all of the currently available SBA programs, including the EIDL (Economic Injury) and Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). You can access the document here.
  • TOPS Relief – Today, Governor John Bel Edwards signed a proclamation providing guidelines and relief for students seeking TOPS funding. You can read the full proclamation here.
  • Face Masks – Both the CDC, and New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, have advised the use of cloth face masks to help slow the spread of the coronavirus. At this time both directives are voluntary. The most effective way to prevent the spread of the coronavirus is to abide by the stay at home directives.

  • Looking for COVID Supplies/Services? – If you are looking for PPE, sanitizer, food providers, and other related products and services that can help in the fight with coronavirus, please see the GNOpivot Resource Tool for a sortable list of local companies who have “pivoted” to providing these emergency provisions.
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) Training Program – Ochsner Health and the New Orleans Career Center (NOCC) are partnering to develop a 4-week online Patient Care Technician (PCT) training course that is free to candidates. There will be a virtual career discussion about the new program this Sunday at 1:00 pm. You can register here.
