The Planning department was created in January 2008 to better serve the public by providing a full-time office, staffed with Tangipahoa Parish Government employees that are under the supervision of the Parish President. This office will address land use situations and subdivision regulations and verify compliance with the Subdivision Regulations and Comprehensive Land Use Plan. We will soon have a GIS system in place to provide updated mapping information.

The Developmental Code Committee is continually working on parish wide land use regulations that will be created from the Comprehensive Plan. Click below to download the 2nd edition of the land use Toolkit code. BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT WE ARE REDLINING A LOT OF THAT MATERIAL. We are eliminating the single-family standards other than setbacks and other items such as that. A final revised draft will be available at this site as soon as it is delivered from the consultants and then we will begin public participation meetings.
