Purpose:
The Public Works Department’s
primary responsibility is to maintain the Parish’s
more than 1,200 miles of roads, subdivision streets,
roadside drainage and bridges within the unincorporated
areas of the parish.
Functions:

Culvert cleaning

Driveway pipe
installation

Right-of-way
mowing

Roadside drainage

Roadway maintenance

Sign installation
/ replacement
-
Tree removal
(within R/W)
- Providing sandbags for flood
control when weather threatens to create flooding
conditions
- Repair parish vehicles and road
equipment and provide a preventative maintenance
program
